The Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. This is the corner of Massachusetts Avenue NW and 9th Street NW. I like the blue sky and angles of the building’s architecture.

This is one of my favorite images from the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. It is a spectacular space modeled after two Roman palaces and built between 1882 and 1887. The interior is based on the Palazzo della Cancelleria.

The Corinthian columns on the sides were inspired by Michelangelo’s work at the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Rome. I can’t decide if the curvature of the columns is actually some sort of barrel distortion from my lens or just the natural tapering of the columns.
